new, inexperienced
One of the more liminal color words of the Irish language, glas inhabits the space between pale green, light blue, and light grey. It’s the color of the sea, grass, young plants, and green timber; it’s also the color of raw wool, homespun linens, a winter sky, and grey eyes. Our glas colorway shimmers between these light tones, with a loop of undyed wool left its natural color.

This colorway is part of our Dathanna series, inspired by the Irish language and its words for colors. Kettle-dyed with carefully-chosen undertones, we’ve made poetic interpretations of the subtle nuances of dathanna, or colors, as they’re understood and used as Gaeilge. These colorways are all more-or-less subtly variegated, so if you’re trying to avoid color pooling, we recommend alternating two skeins in your project. We do our best to hand-match skeins in each order, but due to our small dye batches and the natural movement of dye in a kettle, we can’t guarantee exact color alignment matches from skein to skein. Please wash your yarn or finished objects in cold water with a designated wool wash to avoid bleeding.
